Rat & Boa Dress Review: The Perfect Vacation Dress

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: “There is no way you’re having a bad night in a Rat & Boa dress.” Is it worth the hype? Yes, and I packed a few of my favorites for my trips to Las Vegas and Mexico. In this Rat and Boa dress review, we’ll talk about sizing, what to wear underneath sheer dresses, and which styles should be on your radar this Summer.

About Rat & Boa

There is no doubt, you’ll be turning heads in a Rat & Boa Dress. Whether you’re looking for a wedding guest dress, or planning a Summer holiday, there are so many iconic statement pieces like dresses and swimwear that won’t only help you look good but also feel good. A definite confidence booster!

I’m not kidding. I love the prints and the way they fit.

My Favorite Styles

The Valentina Dress is a semi-sheer leopard dress made of silk. I’m 5’5 and wear a size small. The fit is true to size, but I did take up the hem so I wouldn’t trip all night. I’ve found that most Rat & Boa styles run long.

I wore this dress in Vegas and also in Mexico. It was super comfortable for dancing all night long.

The Paola Dress is so stunning. It has a low back, adjustable straps, and it’s also semi-sheer with lace detailing. It’s the perfect Vegas dress, imo. I wore a medium in this style.

Blouses

This blouse will take you from the beach to the bar. It works as a beach cover-up that you’ll be wearing everywhere, including dinner and drinks.

Is Rat & Boa true to size?

I would say yes, all the styles I’ve owned run true to size. I could go between a small and medium in tops and dresses.

What to wear underneath Rat & Boa dresses?

Most dresses are not lined, so here are a few options. Nude undergarments would work well, but get the color that best matches your skin, so they don’t stand out.

I wore high-waisted bottoms in black from Bras and Things. They were full coverage and were comfortable.

You could also try a nude or black slip or bodysuit.

How to wash?

These dresses are very delicate, so you should treat them with care. I handwash them with a gentle detergent and hang them out to dry. Generally, it’s best to follow the care instructions on the label, but I’ve never had any issues with hand washing.

Where to buy Rat & Boa dresses?

It’s no secret that these dresses don’t come cheap. Prices range from $240 – $1,700, and you can buy them online at ratandboa.com

Depop is always my favorite place to shop for new or secondhand finds. Click here to search Rat and Boa on Depop, and you’ll find so many different affordable styles and sizes available.
