Olivela Charity Spotlight:
This holiday season, Olivela is partnering with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to provide quality care for children with life-threatening diseases. “Giving back is built into everything we do at Olivela and is at the core of our business model,” says Matthew Alland, the retailer’s Chief Experience Officer.
The idea for Olivela was born after Founder and CEO Stacey Boyd joined Malala Yousafzai on a visit to refugee camps in Kenya and Rwanda. There, Boyd met young women with extraordinary stories of young women who overcame poverty, war, and escaped forced marriage to pursue their educations.
In 2017, Boyd created Olivela, a luxury shopping experience, to give back built into every transaction. Since then, Olivela has donated more than 583,000 days of school from each purchase.
“We want customers to enjoy the quality of the product while also learning about our cause partners, our mission, and the good they will personally do when purchasing at Olivela,” says Alland.

How Olivela Works
Shop your favorite luxury fashion and beauty brands, and Olivela will donate 20% to a charity. Previous partners include CARE, Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, and Dress for Success.
“The vision for the brand has always been to lift others through the cohesive purchasing power of our customers,” says Alland.
Where is Olivela located?
In 2018, Olivela opened two boutiques in Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Aspen, Colorado.
“We quickly realized how much more we can impact the world by getting our message out in a physical space,” says Alland. “When shoppers enter our store, we hope they will experience a sophisticated yet welcoming environment.”
The boutiques’ concept was to create a physical space that brought to life the Olivela brand and mission. The stores highlight each Olivela charity it supports. “We wanted to create boutiques that are luxurious, warm, and welcoming. A place to experience both our exquisite luxury brands and the luxury of our cause partners and giving back,” says Alland.
For each boutique Olivela opens, it partners with one or more local non-profit partners to give back to the community. In Nantucket and Aspen, local partners include Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Aspen Education Foundation, and The Buddy Program.
