Life’s a Beach

hey there! so I finally figured out how to move from Blogger  to WordPress… turns out it was easier than I thought 🙂

Yesterday, I had the chance to participate in the “Morning After Mess,” a beach cleanup for all the icky stuff left behind after the 4th of July weekend.  In 20 minutes I picked up two pounds of marshmallows, a frisbee, and a few cigarette butts in Ocean Beach.

It’s one of the easiest things you can do to help keep our beaches clean, besides not littering in the first place of course.  I love the beach, and I love it even better when there isn’t trash everywhere.

Bill Hickman with the Surfrider Foundation in SD told me more than 750 volunteers picked up over 2,300 pounds of trash and 8,000 cigarette butts!!!! that is a whole lotta trash!

Here’s a link to future cleanups! Every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturday of the month.  You don’t even have to tell them you are going, just show up whenever you can!

See ya at the beach!
