We all want to feel a little more productive. Getting things done, makes us feel accomplished. But sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming when you start thinking about all the things you need to do and aren’t exactly sure where to start. If you’re struggling with how to get more things done every day, keep reading.
With distractions coming to us from all angles, it’s not always easy to stay focused.

Here are a few ideas to help you get more things done every day.
1) MORNINGS MATTER.
Make your bed, drink water and eat a healthy breakfast. If you work from home, try to avoid staying in your pj’s all day. I always feel more productive and ready to work after I get dressed. If you want to get more work done, you need to show up ready to work, even if it is from home.
I also try not to check my phone as soon as I wake up so I don’t have any distractions first thing in the morning.
For some of us, meditating doesn’t always come easy, but it can help bring you into alignment.
Studies show that meditation may physically change your brain and body and could potentially help improve health problems and promote healthy behaviors. I use the Headspace app for guided meditations. Start with a few minutes at a time and gradually work your way up to longer sessions.
3) SPEND TIME OUTSIDE.
I always turn to nature when I need a little bit of inspiration. If you are having a creativity block, take a short walk, or go on a hike. Spend time at the beach or visit your favorite place to recharge. Also, pay attention to anything that might be causing you to be less productive. Are you spending too much time on your phone? Is your workspace a mess? Try to figure out what could be causing any disruptions.
4) TURN YOUR PHONE OFF.
When I’m writing I like to turn my phone off. Not just on silent, but off. That way I can avoid any interruptions when I’m trying to get work done. I also recently started setting reminders on my phone that monitor how long I’ve spent scrolling.

5) CREATE A LIST.
“I set weekly goals, and then break them up through the week. Bite-sized, and doable. Never put more than three for one day, or else I am just setting myself to fail,” says Elise Thompson, Eat, Travel, Aloha blogger.
When creating a to-do list, try to carve out blocks of time for each task. This will keep you from spending too much time on one thing. You can also try to set several alarms on your phone as a reminder of when its time to move on to the next project.
6) FIND A BUDDY TO HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE.
I love seeing my friends succeed and accomplish their goals. Having a friend or cheerleader who is going to motivate you helps you stay focused and working towards your goals. I like to share my goals for the month with friends or mentors and check in with them to see how I can help. This keeps both of us accountable.
7) CELEBRATE YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Look, it’s not always easy to be productive, but be proud of yourself for at least trying. Try not to get overwhelmed by the things you didn’t get to do, and instead feel proud of what you did finish. If you can’t get it done today, there is always tomorrow!
