Fiestas Patrias

It’s a big celebration in Peru… Saturday was Fiestas Patrias, and since its the weekend, more restaurants and businesses are open here in Punta Hermosa.

Winter at the beach in Peru isn’t as cold as I thought it was going to be. I think I might like it here more in the summer, but regardless I’m enjoying the few hours of sunlight we get each day, and I’ve also been riding bikes alot.
This is the last time we will be on the coast until Chile. Cusco and Bolivia are next, so we are sticking around here for the holiday weekend.

The north coast is very different from the south. It’s much colder South of Lima during this time of year, and the ceviche tastes different.
I’ve learned not to ask people for directions, or what to eat. People have a hard time making recommendations, and whenever we get directions… It’s completely off. No biggie!
