We’re so excited to be featuring the wonderful work that dk active is doing to help uplift women in our community. After the 2022 floods in QLD, the Brisbane-based ethical activewear brand donated hundreds of new clothing items to help people impacted by the floods in Ballina and Lismore. On International Women’s Day, they teamed up with Women’s Legal Services QLD to help raise awareness to #BreaktheBias.
WLSQ provides free legal and support services to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence. They’re committed to a society in which every woman:
- can live free from violence and discrimination
- can tell her story, have it heard and respected, without judgement
- receives a just and equitable outcome from legal and social systems.
Brand Spotlight: dk active Ethical Activewear
I first got to know dk active when I started researching ethical activewear brands a few years ago. Every dk active piece I own looks as good as it did when I first bought it, and even after countless workouts, my legging and crops still have the same stretch. Check out my dk active review here.

This luxury activewear brand ethically designs and creates comfortable clothing that celebrates individuality. They carry women’s activewear, maternity and breastfeeding tops, and high-quality plus-size gym clothes. Fabrics are made from ethical and organic materials, with a transparent supply chain, eco-friendly processes and packaging.
“Diversity is a key pillar in the dk active brand. We take the pressure off needing to fit a certain mould to wear our brand. Whether you’re working out or hanging out, we have something for you. And you will feel fabulous in it!”

IWD 2022 theme: Break the Bias
“Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women’s equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.”
“As women, we do not need to settle for any less than being equal, and it is shocking that we even must ask for that. But this theme is not only about self-identifying women but breaking all stigmas against bias of any stereotypes and discrimination. I love celebrating individuality – that is what the dk active brand is all about. So, this theme really resonates with me and the rest of our team.”
