Jingle Bells are ringing

By now you’ve probably seen or heard those red kettles all over town. It’s hard to believe Christmas is almost here…time sure does fly by. This is the second year I got a chance to help with the East County Toy and Food Drive.  The Salvation Army raised $5,000 dollars last year in just one night, and tonight they were hoping to do the same.

Wait a minute… Is that a pirate I see?

why yes…..yes it is! argh matey… it’s Captain Sam Diego

Big smiles all around… Meet three sparkling beauties

The toys go to families who need it most. Each child gets 2-3 gifts and families also get a food or gift certificate.  Click here to find out how you can qualify. Not sure if it’s too late this year, but there might be other opportunities.

Suzi!

  1. I LOVE your blog! It’s bright and sparkling and filled with interesting pictures. Great photos of the East County Toy & Food Drive night at Hooleys! Thank you for being one of The Salvation Army’s Celebrities – I could tell people were delighted to meet you and talk with you. Usually I’m running around taking photos, but with my fractured femur, I just sat & enjoyed the delish House Salad, Calamari appetizer & a Blue Moon – there’s some good in everything, I guess! FUN, fun, fun evening at Hooleys in Grossmont Center.
