Quito is a beautiful city…It´s been hot in the morning, the clouds roll in by the afternoon and it gets colder at night. The high altitude is no joke… shortness of breath, and dizziness is pretty common if you aren´t used to it. By day 2, we set out to explore the city. We took a cab to Old Town which is absolutely beautiful and made our way to El Panecillo…a hill which offers breathtaking views of the city. The churches are spectacular and there are some cool parks in New Town.
Chris is out mountain-biking now, while I´m taking a break. We are supposed to visit the Mitad del Mundo…aka the Equator later this week, before we head to the coast.
