Twenty Eleven

I’m still picking up the confetti from the floor, and recovering from the never-ending champagne diet.  This New Year’s Eve staying in was the only option! I invited my closest friends to celebrate the big countdown.  The theme- Boardwalk Empire meets Great Gatsby!

I’m not a big fan of pre-packaged party platters, when I can make everything myself. It’s all in the details.

My family is full of New Year’s Eve traditions. Grapes are for good luck. You are supposed to eat one for every month, and make a wish before you do. If you take a suitcase outside…it’s supposed to bring you a year full of travels, and wearing red underwear… well that’s pretty self-explanatory. 🙂

May 2011 be the year you make things happen! Spend it with people who make you smile and don’t be afraid to take any risks.

Oh my gosh my best friend and her fam have the same tradition about the suitcase. Except they have to run around the block with it. I thought they were kind of crazy for doing that tho lol

    Happy New Year!

I know… it’s silly, but I’ve been doing that for as long as I can remember.
My mom just told me that you are supposed to put the grapes in your champagne flute and then eat them after you drink the champagne.
I’m just not sure where you can find a flute that fits 12 grapes! hahaha.
